| No poker, just dinners ... |

| I just realized today I'm not counting my days in titles like I usually do!
| For the record this would be covering days 9 and 10 because I drove out on the 9th and I'm typing this up on the 19th, day 11.
| We had breakfast and dinner reservations for Wednesday and Thursday. The Henry in Cosmo for breakfast and Carbone Riveria in Bellagio for dinner the first one and Primrose for breakfast and Tom Colichio's Craftsteak for dinner the second day.
| The Henry was fine, it's breakfast, I got the standard eggs how I want them (over easy) and Joann got a breakfast burrito that she definitely enjoyed.
| Dinner was fantastic. I did not have what I meant to have, Branzino (Mediterranean Sea Bass), because it was for at least two people. I had had Sea Bass in Portugal last summer and loved it, but Joann had a meal she wanted and wasn't splitting it with me so we need to go back with more than just the two of us with at least one other person who wants to split with me. Looking for volunteers, they also do one for 4-6 people but that's a lot of people :-)
| That said, excellent meal. Highly recommend! If you can get in, they're literally booked solid for months.
| We shared some sea scallops and clams casino that were excellent, I ended up having Cavatelli Riveriera which was basically cavatelli with a spicy pomodoro, sausage and mussels.
| I'm not a big seafood person, but there is a short list of things I like and I like them a lot. Swordfish or tuna steaks, mussles in a red sauce and apparently European/Mediterranean sea bass.
| And this is an Italian seafood restaurant so I was going to get into the spirit of things!
| Honestly tho I would have enjoyed the meal with or without the mussels. Sauce and sausage were great. Joann had cappallini crab in EVOO and loved it. Too much because she went back to the room a little overstuffed.
| Still full from that dinner we canceled breakfast Thursday, got Starbucks instead. Hit the outlets and mostly just hung out watching soccer and the previous weekend's Formula 1 race in the room.
| On to Craftsteak.
| Great, great meal. And we have a new favorite steakhouse in Las Vegas! I know this is gonna be a shocker for anyone who's been out here with us, but ...
| Smith & Wollensky has in our opinion gone downhill. The bread we used to love that comes with every meal is never made fresh any more and usually stale. The steaks are always excellent, but the sides have been pretty spotty as well.
| Enter Craftsteak. Clearly the bread was freshly baked. I had the best French Onion soup I've had in a very long time - maybe the best I've ever had! I know, soup, but seriously it was exceptional.
| Joann had a filet mignon, I had braised short ribs that were served in a copper pot stew style with vegetables but not potatoes. We both had scallops as an accompaniment rather than as a meal or appetizer and they too were really, really good.
| So good that I overstuff myself. Badly. I'm not kidding we went back to the room and I passed out, not from alcolhol as one could reasonably expect of me on occasion but, no, an absolute food coma. So no poker ...
| Friday we're doing another cabana and I'm planning to get back into the poker groove with the 7pm at Aria, then after my great day at the Nugget last week how could I not do TORSE at Orleans on Saturday???
| We have decided on a 3rd cabana Sunday when Patrick arrives, but that doesn't mean I might not jump into something (like what he's playing in!) Sunday afternoon/evening.
| That's all I got for now... |
