| Welcome to the Vegas June 2009 BLOG.

| As always, this page will be updated as plans change, possibly right up until we leave. Right now we're reserved at Paris, I would say that's our favorite hotel on the strip that isn't Bellagio or Venetian (we haven't stayed at Wynn yet). Great location, a 24 hour cafe that we like a lot and very nice rooms.

| The itinerary at this point is fairly simple:
|
- Leave the springs on Friday the 12th
- Dinner and Ka Friday night
- CHANGE OF PLANS:Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza $560 buyin Saturday
- WSOP tournament event 32 Monday afternoon
- Spend most of the rest of the week playing Deep Stack and daily tournaments at Caesar's and/or Venetai
- Return home the following Saturday

| Cody informed me on Thursday that Caesar's is getting nobody playing and that they've effectively canceled their mega stack series and replaced it with a daily $340 buyin. Personally I think that's a terrible shame, I think it's the best run poker room I've played in outside of the WSOP. So Venetian it is, and maybe afterwards I'll think THEY are the best run poker room around...hopefully anyway...

| Looks like a number of folks will be in Vegas at the same time. Leon is planning to go Tuesday-Thursday and is planning to play in event 34. Hans and Maria will be there Sunday-Wednesday on their way home from San Fran. John A will be going out ahead of us and is going to play in event 26 on Friday. On top of that, someone I work with will be out there with her husband the week before, our trips overlap two days, and someone Joann works with will be there for the end of our trip along with her husband, brother and sister-in-law. And hopefully Cody will have some time for us as well... |
