Vegas April 2010 (WSOPC)

Planning
Last Updated: 2010-04-05 08:48:27
I booked my flight so the trip is on. I've made a reservation at the IP for Saturday through Tuesday April 17-20. Matt and Tommy have expressed interest in going but no firm committments. Leon, Paul and a co-worker of Paul's named Brian are all going Sunday through Wednesday instead of Saturday through Tuesday.
The reason for going this particular weekend is the convergence of Venetian's Deep Stack tournament series and the WSOP circuit event at Caesars. Since Caesars got killed over last summer by the Deep Stack they've scaled back buyins considerably. Last June they cancelled their "Mega Stack" series because they couldn't get enough players to cover the promised buyin to the WSOP main event while Venetian was regularly getting 400+ players per day for their $335 buyin DS tournaments and close to that for higher buyins.
I got the latest flight out on Tuesday night that I could so that I can play in a two-day tournament on Monday. If I play in a deep stack Monday and make it to day two I'm going to have to "go Gus" after about an hour of play if I want to make my flight, however. They haven't posted structure yet for WSOPC so I don't know what time play starts on day two. That could heavily influence what I play in Monday, day two of Deep Stacks don't start until 4pm.
But having said that, the Deep Stacks over the weekend are both $550 buyins while the circuit event buyins are in the $230-330 range so I can play in two of those for what one deep stack will cost me. So I'm really not sure yet what I'm going to play in. I believe Leon and Paul are planning to play in the WSOPC.
