Vegas March 2014

Planning

Usually I wouldn't schedule the spring trip this early in the year because I'd hope to be getting in a final weekend of skiing...but we don't live in Colorado any more and now that Joann is going to go on the trips with me I will almost always be scheduling trips when the kids are off school. This is the middle of their spring break.
This one's going to be the second weekend of March, Tuesday-Sunday.
Don't have any specific poker plans outside of tournaments at Aria again. We're a couple of weeks late for the WSOPC event at Caesars the second half of February. I did read that Bellagio moved their 2pm tournament to 5pm with what sounds like similar/same format as Aria so I might check that out on a day I bust out of the early Aria tournament quickly. But otherwise, this is an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" trip, and I've been doing quite well at Aria.
Staying in New York New York again, Joann and I were happy with the hotel and the location on the fall trip and we got a deal you just can't beat! Two free weeknights, two weekend nights at 57% off. If it wasn't for the resort fee we'd be down around IP...er...the Quad rates for a much nicer hotel.
Which brings me to...I think I am finally, really, absolutely done with staying at the casino formerly known as Imperial Palace. Even if I was going by myself, I haven't played at Caesar's or Wynn either of my last two trips and I haven't played at Venetian in a long time. As long as Aria is my poker home, if I'm really going to slum it I'll look at Luxor or Excalibur. But they're farther from everything non-poker we normally do so I'd have to be in a very frugal mood.
And now that we're gold members with M-Life, thanks to Joann's slot play and I'm guessing the fact that we now stay only at MGM resorts and eat at least half our meals at them, we get to skip all the lines when we check in and dine in MGM owned resorts! This also gives me incentive to stay, dine and play at their hotels.
Bottom line...outside of the WSOP and a couple of their buffet's, the Caesar's chain of resorts has lost me as a very regular customer.

Love special lines for gold/platinum members. Lines don't affect nourishment decisions.
