| | NYNY sent me an email with a "two free nights" offer in the fall. Little chance I'm going to ignore an email like that! And it didn't take me long to find someone to join me...
| | Of course it's not "any two nights", and my first two choices for weekends were apparently bad ones (UFC and a boxing match same night the first weekend I tried, and one of those events surely in the new arena behind NYNY...). But I was able to find a weekend that works and we're going the weekend of 12/9 for a long weekend.
| | College buddy Jim, who had to skip the Tag Team Event, will be joining me.
| | No specific plans yet. I always assume that we will mostly play at Aria, maybe entirely, unless something comes along that changes our minds. But you never know, played some at Venetian last year because Aria didn't run a 7PM the weekend we were there and maybe Jim has better ideas...
| | UPDATE: There is a weekend long deep stack event at Venetian that looks tempting. Last week I saw a poker pro making a comment about not playing at Venetian so he wasn't putting money in Sheldon Adelson's pockets...and the light came on for me. I also doesn't want to put money in the pocket of a guy who's spending piles of money to stop expansion of online poker. But I also want to play in good opportunities to be successful and it seems to me Venetian tournaments are getting a little softer. So I will probably look hard for alternatives before playing there, but I dunno if I'll boycott... | | Post a comment |
