| I've booked Sunday November 13th to Saturday November 19th, but as of the writing of this entry I don't even know 100% that I'm going but I would say it's better than 50-50.

| UPDATE: Two months before the trip my mindset is that this is 99% happening. I can do it without using vacation time, I have a crazy cheap room and I want to go.

| Since I've started playing at Orleans some during the WSOP and I do like playing there, Orleans will definitely be an option. Especially on "bad days" at Aria. If I bust out of Aria early I definitely could run over to Orleans for their 7pm. Especially on Monday for HORSE and Wednesday for Stud8/Omaha8 mix!

| And I keep saying it, one of these days I'll try playing cash again. Maybe this will be the one!

| I've been flying more often for these trips, but I will likely drive so that I'll have a car to get back and forth to Orleans.

| UPDATE 2: Joann and I are considering the possibility that we come out together Thursday the 10th after work, her going home on a plane Sunday after watching some football and then me playing Monday through Friday. If Joann doesn't come out I will stick with the above dates and likely play some poker Sunday after football.

FINAL UPDATE: We decided that Joann is not going, however in order to keep our status I need to spend more than planned (especially considering I had 6 nights of hotel costing me all of $275) so I need to find ways to run up my bill. I've added the Saturday night at the front of the trip, plan is now final:
- Leave home lunch-ish Saturday 11/12, arrive late
- Sunday football at Tom's Urban with Heather and Glenn. Definitely early games, only question is do I stick around and watch the miserable Packers in the afternoon or go sober up so I can play in the 7PM at Orleans
- Poker Monday through Friday (probably Aria daily followed by Orleans nightly when Aria goes poorly, especially the above mentioned non-NLH)
- Have some more expensive meals than I would have on my own and throw in a massage at the hotel spa because I deserve it
- Drive home following Saturday
The Saturday night stay is costing me almost double the entire rest of the hotel reservation if you can believe it, but we're sucking it up to keep status! |
